Matrox Matrox ORIGIN

Broadcast Developer

Matrox Matrox ORIGIN

Software-defined environment for live production on IT hardware or in the cloud

Matrox ORIGIN is an asynchronous framework that moves live video processing onto standard servers or into the public cloud. Media services exchange uncompressed content over a transport layer (fabric), while synchronous inputs and outputs remain only at the edge of the system. It is intended for manufacturers and developers of broadcast solutions.

MXLTAMS

Key features

  • ORIGIN Framework: Control API (REST) and Media Services SDK (C/C++)
  • ORIGIN Fabric SDK: uncompressed content transport between services, MXL compatible
  • Runs on-premises or in AWS (AWS FTR validation)
  • TAMS Writer and Reader services for time-addressable storage
  • Timing alignment via timestamps, no PTP inside the framework

Applications

Software-defined broadcast facilities (EBU DMF)
Live production in the cloud
Media service development for equipment manufacturers
